Opportunities
We currently have vacancies at Kingsley Centre for Supported Volunteers in Administration, Reception and our Cafe. For more information please contact Jo Casey at Kingsley Centre. We have come to recognise that for some people additional and at times specific personal support is required for them to be able to access volunteering opportunities. We have therefore developed a Supported Volunteering Project, which acknowledges individuals’ personal needs whilst at the same time providing a variety of opportunities for personal and skill development. The project is supported by Chainreaction Personal Development Group staff who are professionally trained. They provide a friendly work environment, which understands the needs of disabled people. People acquire basic skills in a challenging yet supportive environment. At Kingsley Centre we offer volunteering in our village shop, Post Office, Cafe, reception, community centre and administration office. At our services in West Berkshire and Camden we can offer administration and receptionist opportunities. The skills learned are thus rooted within real, relevant experience which assists learning, empowers the learner and aids retention. The significant skills concerned with building relationships are also explicitly addressed. Interpersonal skills are critically important in facilitating our learning. With the benefit of experience at Kingsley Organisation, volunteers most often proceed to further training or employment far beyond their own, or the professionals', original expectations. For this service there is a daily rate, please contact Jane Kincaid at Kingsley Centre for details. News | Disability services | Local services | Resources | About us | Opportunities | Contact Us |
