KAT, the Kingsley Access Team provides access audits to public facilities throughout East Hampshire. The team is comprised of disabled people and carers.

The purpose of an access audit is not to be critical of the organisation or facility, but to give positive advice and help in making the venue more accessible for any person who may have an access problem, mothers with buggies and toddlers, the frail and elderly and people with disabilities of any kind.

It must be noted that poor physical access does not always mean that access will be impossible as the attitude of staff can overcome those problem areas, conversely good physical access may not mean that a facility is welcoming to those with access problems.

Audits may be booked by contacting Helen Dayson at the Kingsley Centre.

Premises surveyed include:

The majority of East Hampshire District Council facilities
All public sports centres in the District
All public toilets in the District
The majority of the rural polling stations in East Hampshire
Bordon Garrison Swimming Pool
Blackmoor Village Hall Local Cemeteries
